SILENT HOUSE

Chris Kentis and Laura Lau are filmmakers based in New York city who are best known for the critically acclaimed feature film OPEN WATER, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Made without a crew for a budget of $120,000, the film went on to gross more than $55 million world wide and is one of the 20 most profitable low-budget movies of all time. 

 

They’ve also produced, wrote, directed and edited the feature films GRIND, starring Billy Crudup and Amanda Peet, and SILENT HOUSE, starring Elizabeth Olsen, which also premiered at Sundance and was released by Open Road Films.

 

As screenwriters they’ve sold numerous scripts and been hired to write for various studios including: 20th Century, CBS Films, Lionsgate, Paramount, Wild Bunch, and Warner Bros.

 

Chris is also an award-winning producer/editor of movie trailers with 25 + years of experience in entertainment marketing. He has created theatrical trailers, promos, television spots, featurettes, and sizzle reels for over a hundred films and series, for nearly every major studio, in every genre, for directors such as: Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, Tim Burton, Spike Lee, Michael Mann, Kelly Reichart, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, and Quentin Tarantino.
